Newcastle is a city with ambition, creativity and culture at its heart. From internationally recognised festivals and world-class heritage to grassroots creativity and thriving tourism, our city is alive with opportunity — and we are looking for an exceptional leader to help shape its future.
We are seeking an inspiring and strategic Culture and Tourism Manager to lead the city’s cultural and tourism agenda within Newcastle City Council.
This is a role with real influence. You will work across the Council, with elected members, regional and national agencies, cultural institutions and tourism partners to drive forward a bold vision for Newcastle’s cultural and visitor economy. You will champion the city region on local, national and international stages and help ensure culture continues to play a central role in Newcastle’s economic growth, wellbeing and identity.
You will lead talented teams, oversee major programmes and partnerships, support investment into the cultural sector and help shape the future of culture led regeneration across the city.
We are looking for someone who combines strategic thinking with energy, creativity and strong leadership. You will bring significant senior-level experience within culture, tourism, heritage or the creative industries, alongside a strong track record of partnership working, service development and delivering impact in complex environments.
This is an exciting opportunity to make a lasting difference in one of the UK’s most vibrant and culturally ambitious cities.
