You will be responsible for leading and delivering a customer-focused, high-performing service within a designated operational area, which will include repairs and maintenance, voids, damp and disrepair. The role will provide operational leadership, service planning and day-to-day management to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule and to the satisfaction of customers.
What you will be doing -
Lead and manage a designated area of repairs & voids within Newcastle City Council's portfolio
Develop and improve customer-focused services in line with agreed performance measures and service standards.
Ensure works are planned, delivered and completed safely, efficiently, on schedule and to customers’ satisfaction.
Manage allocated staff, resources and budgets to maximise productivity, value for money and operational performance.
Support, motivate and develop teams, ensuring staff are appropriately trained, equipped and working in line with legislation and best practice.
Identify opportunities for innovation, commercial development and service efficiencies while maintaining strong customer relationships.
Duties will include -
Leading, developing and improving services in line with customer expectations, agreed performance measures, legislation, health and safety requirements and sector best practice. You will be accountable for the management of allocated staff, resources and budgets, ensuring effective deployment, supervision, motivation and performance management of teams. You will also identify opportunities for innovation, commercial development, improved productivity and service efficiencies, while maintaining strong customer relationships and supporting the Council’s wider priorities.

To be successful in this role, you must be able to demonstrate experience in a relevant technical discipline, industry experience, and a strong commitment to continuing professional development. You will have experience of delivering and continually improving customer-centred services, leading and motivating teams in a fast-paced environment, managing budgets and resources, and maximising productivity and performance. A highly developed understanding of health and safety regulations within your area of responsibility is essential, along with the ability to develop and lead a multi-disciplined team to meet agreed specifications, timescales and performance levels.
