About Us

Our Local Authority is growing its residential care provision to meet the needs of children and young people in our community. We are committed to delivering outstanding care and fostering positive outcomes through trauma-informed practice and strong partnerships.

The Role

As a Deputy Children’s Home Manager, you will work closely with the Home Manager to ensure the smooth running of the home and the highest standards of care. You’ll be responsible for:
  • Supporting the Home Manager in day-to-day operations and compliance with Ofsted regulations.
  • Leading shifts and supervising staff to maintain a safe, nurturing environment.
  • Acting as a role model for best practice in safeguarding and trauma-informed care.
  • Assisting with staff development, training, and performance management.
  • Building strong relationships with children, families, and professionals to achieve positive outcomes. 
Leadership & Development OpportunitiesThis role is an excellent stepping stone into senior leadership. As part of our expanding service, you’ll have opportunities to:
  • Gain experience in strategic planning and service development.
  • Access mentorship and leadership training to prepare for future management roles.

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:
  • Experienced in residential childcare, ideally with or working towards a Level 3 or Level 5 Diploma in Children and Young People’s Services.
  • Passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people.
  • Skilled in team leadership and able to motivate others.
  • Knowledgeable about safeguarding and Children’s Homes Regulations.
  • Resilient, solution-focused, and committed to continuous improvement.
