We are looking for a skilled and motivated Senior Assessment Officer to join our Revenues & Benefits Service, supporting the delivery of Housing Benefit and a range of financial and welfare support schemes.
In this role, you will assess and review complex cases, support the administration of schemes including crisis resilience and housing payments, and contribute to high-quality decision making that supports residents across the city. You will also play a key role in responding to appeals, undertaking quality assurance, and helping to improve our processes and services.
You’ll work closely with colleagues across the Council and with partner organisations to ensure customers receive the right support at the right time, helping to prevent financial hardship and promote independence.
We are looking for someone with strong technical knowledge of Housing Benefit, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage complex caseloads. You will be confident working in a fast-paced environment, providing advice to colleagues and customers, and contributing to service improvement.
