Join our dedicated team at Newcastle City Council and take on a vital role as an Area Engineer for Traffic Management!
In this role, you'll be a champion for the city and our communities, playing a key part in:
Ensuring the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and motorists through effective traffic management strategies.
Developing and implementing local transport plans, collaborating with residents and stakeholders to create safer and more efficient streets
Developing and implementing neighbourhood improvements, collaborating with residents and stakeholders to create safer and more efficient streets.
Championing safe routes to schools, working closely with schools and families to create safer journeys for our future generation.
You'll be the go to person for all things traffic management in your designed area, working collaboratively with:
Elected members: Effectively communicate traffic management plans and address their concerns.
Resident and community groups: Proactively engage with the community to understand their needs and concerns regarding traffic flow and safety.
Contractors and business owners: Ensure smooth implementation of traffic management schemes with minimal disruption.

Proven experience in planning, implementing and monitoring traffic management schemes.
A strong working knowledge of traffic management legislation, standards and best practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships and diverse stakeholders.
