St John’s Primary School are looking to appoint an outstanding Specialist Resource Provision (SRP) Manager to lead our growing Communication and Interaction Provision. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced practitioner who is committed to enabling pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) to access a personalised, inclusive and ambitious curriculum.

About the Role

We are proud that our school-based specialist provision, ‘The Hub’, is expanding and in September will consist of two dedicated classes supporting children with Communication and Interaction needs. As the Lead Teacher, you will have responsibility for your own class of 8-10 pupils, while also providing strategic and operational oversight of the provision as a whole. Working as part of a team, alongside a teacher, support staff and external specialists such as Speech and Language Therapists and Occupational Therapists, you will develop a high-quality learning environment that enables pupils to thrive both within the hub and across the wider school community.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Leading and managing the day-to-day operation of the specialist provision.
  • Teaching and supporting a class of pupils with EHCPs.
  • Developing, implementing and reviewing a bespoke curriculum that meets the needs of pupils within the provision.
  • Designing and overseeing blended learning programmes for pupils accessing both mainstream and specialist provision.
  • Working collaboratively with mainstream staff to ensure successful inclusion opportunities.
  • Monitoring pupil progress and ensuring provision meets the requirements of EHCPs.
  • Leading and supporting support staff within the provision.
  • Building positive relationships with families and external professionals.
  • Planning and leading regular educational visits and community-based learning opportunities to enhance pupils' independence, communication and social development.
  • Contributing to the strategic development and continued growth of the provision.

About You

We are looking for someone who:
  • Has substantial experience working within a specialist setting or specialist resource provision, particularly supporting pupils with Communication and Interaction needs.
  • Has a strong understanding of autism, speech and language needs, sensory differences and inclusive practice.
  • Is an excellent classroom practitioner with high expectations for all pupils.
  • Has experience of planning and delivering personalised learning programmes for pupils with EHCPs.
  • Can confidently lead curriculum development and ensure learning is ambitious, engaging and meaningful.
  • Is highly organised and able to manage both teaching and leadership responsibilities effectively.
  • Brings creativity, innovation and fresh ideas to further develop the provision.
  • Has excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Is committed to inclusion and believes every child can succeed.
  • Enjoys learning beyond the classroom and is enthusiastic about leading regular trips and community-based experiences.

We Can Offer
  • A unique opportunity to shape and lead an expanding specialist provision within a mainstream setting.
  • Supportive and forward-thinking school leadership.
  • A committed and enthusiastic staff team.
  • Excellent professional development opportunities.
  • A rewarding role where you can make a lasting difference to the lives of children and families.
  • A welcoming and inclusive school community.

If you are an inspirational specialist teacher with the experience, passion and vision to lead our Hub Provision, we would love to hear from you.

Visits to the school are warmly welcomed and encouraged.
