This is an exciting time to join Adult Social CarePoint as we continue to develop our front door services. The Contact Officers play a vital role where every day is different and presents with new challenges. The work is varied and fast paced. The Contact Officers work within a wider team which includes Social Workers, Social Care Assessment Officers and two Team Managers who will provide support and guidance.

The role is office based with work mainly carried out over the telephone. Our office hours are 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday, staff use a rota to alternate start and finish times to ensure that all hours are covered.

The role requires strong communication skills to gather and interpret information accurately from a range of sources, including members of the public, those who receive care and support, carers and professionals. Information must be clearly and concisely recorded within appropriate systems in line with policy and procedural requirements. Training is provided in the use of IT systems and processes.

This is a front-line role within Adult Social Care and involves responding to contacts from individuals who may be vulnerable or in crisis. Contact Officers are responsible for screening and triaging incoming calls, applying professional judgement to consider risk and need, and determining the most appropriate course of action. This may include providing information and advice, signposting, making referrals or escalating concerns where required.

The role also involves working collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to facilitate timely and proportionate responses, ensuring that outcomes are appropriate and in line with service expectations.

We are committed to protecting and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expect all staff to share this commitment.  This post is working in regulated activity.  If you are successful we will undertake additional recruitment checks which will include a check to see if you have had any criminal convictions, a check of police information and we will check the barred list(s).  It is a criminal offence for a barred individual to apply for a job in regulated activity.
