Visitor Experience Assistants - Casual
N3 - £25,185 per annum (pro-rata) £13.05 per hour.
These posts attract a Real Living Wage supplement. In addition to the hourly rate, these posts will receive a Real Living Wage supplement to bring the hourly rate up to £13.45 an hour
North East Museums (formerly Tyne and Wear Archives and Museums) is a major regional museum, art gallery and archives service managing a collection of twelve museums and galleries across Tyneside and Northumberland plus the Archives for Tyne and Wear.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our casual Visitor Experience Assistant register and work across 2 of our sites in Northumberland as and when required. The post is predominantly based at Hexham Old Gaol but there is an expectation that the post holder could also be based at Woodhorn Museum. Hexham Old Gaol is open on a seasonal basis between April and October.
Successful applicants will work as part of a diverse and enthusiastic team providing every visitor with a friendly and warm welcome. You will be responsible for enhancing the museum experience of visitors to our sites through the provision of exceptional customer service and knowledge of our heritage, exhibitions, events, activities and guided tours, ensuring that every museum visit is enjoyable, informative, safe and memorable.
You will also contribute towards the sustainable future of our sites and North East Museums through income generation on site, promoting Annual Pass, Gift Aid uptake and retail sales as well as encouraging donations.
We are looking for applicants with previous experience working in a visitor-facing role, with an active interest in Northumberland’s history and a sound understanding, commitment and passion for ensuring outstanding visitor experience for all.
