Do you want to make a real difference to the lives of children and young people in Newcastle schools?
Newcastle is a dynamic and growing core city. Our School Organisation and Infrastructure team has a strong track record, working with schools and trusts across Newcastle as well as with officers within Children and Families, other parts of the Council, the DfE and external partners on a wide range of school capital and other projects.
This is a varied role and the successful candidate will carry out a range of functions relating to school organisation, capital projects, pupil place planning, and school estate management. A key and growing area of work for the team is focused on provision for children and young people with special educational needs and making mainstream schools and settings more inclusive learning environments.
You will have experience of managing capital projects within timescales, budget and quality and strong analytical skills.
Equally important, however, will be the ability to engage and effectively communicate with a variety of stakeholders, including providing information and advice to school leaders and governors, senior officers and elected members of the Council.
