Newcastle City Council are looking for an experienced leader to join our Repairs & Construction Services team. You will take operational responsibility for delivering high-quality building-related services across the citys social housing stock, ensuring performance and quality standards are met in line with client requirements.

What you will be doing - 
Manage the day-to-day delivery of repairs and construction/building services to ensure consistent quality and customer-focused outcomes.
Maintain contractual performance levels and achieve key performance indicators (KPIs).
Lead service and business planning, budget management and performance reporting to deliver value for money.
Translate the Repairs & Construction Services vision and priorities into effective operational delivery within your area.
Drive continuous improvement and innovation in service delivery, working with councillors, staff, trade unions, service users and partners.
Lead, develop and empower staff, supporting achievement and contribution to Council and service objectives.
Represent the service on performance, client management and service improvement matters, including at forums and consultation events.
Maintain quality, environmental and safety standards and support accreditation requirements.
Ensure a healthy, safe and secure working environment, complying with regulatory requirements and Council policies and procedures.
Undertake the Principal Duty Holder role for electrical and gas activities in line with legislative requirements.
Develop and maintain effective partnerships with clients, suppliers and contractors.

About you - 
You will be a confident manager with strong operational and people leadership skills, able to plan, prioritise and deliver results in a busy, customer-facing environment. You will bring experience of managing building-related services and a track record of improving performance, quality and value for money. You will also have a strong commitment to health and safety compliance and collaborative working across teams and partners.
A full driving licence is essential.
