Our Corporate Procurement & Payments Service plays a vital role in helping the Council do just that supporting fair, compliant and value-driven commissioning across a wide range of services.
We are now looking for a Procurement Sourcing Officer to join our teaman ideal opportunity for someone looking to build a professional career in public sector procurement, with structured support and development.
About the role
As a Procurement Sourcing Officer, you will support the delivery of commissioning and procurement activity across a broad range of goods and services. Working closely with experienced procurement colleagues and service areas, you’ll help ensure procurement activity is compliant, effective and aligned to Council priorities.

As a Procurement Sourcing Officer, you will support the delivery of commissioning and procurement activity across a broad range of goods and services. Working closely with experienced procurement colleagues and service areas, you’ll help ensure procurement activity is compliant, effective and aligned to Council priorities.
Your work will include:
- Supporting sourcing and procurement activity in line with legislation and Council policies
- Assisting with supplier engagement, call off tender exercises and evaluation activity
- Analysing spend, performance and financial data to support better decision-making
- Helping to embed social value and financial value within procurement processes
- Building effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
About you
We’re looking for someone with enthusiasm, curiosity and a genuine interest in a career in procurement.
You’ll bring:
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Confidence working with data, including analysing and presenting information
- The ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines in a busy environment
- Good IT skills and the willingness to learn new systems
- A professional, collaborative approach to working with colleagues and stakeholdersMost importantly, you’ll be keen to develop your career in procurement and willing to invest in your professional development.
- As part of this role, you will be required to undertake and work towards CIPS Level 4.
