Family Wellbeing Service – Team Leader Opportunity (ME15) Maternity Cover
We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a Family Wellbeing Team Leader on a 1-year fixed term contract starting in September 2026, providing an excellent secondment opportunity for internal applicants looking to develop their leadership experience within CLLF.
This is a fantastic time to join the Family Wellbeing Service. As we move into a period of significant social care reform and service development, this role offers the opportunity to shape practice, influence pathways and support for families, and contribute to the Family First Partnership reforms alongside a team of alternatively qualified staff.
About the role
As a Team Leader, you will be a qualified social worker, working under the direction of the Service Manager to lead key areas of service delivery, ensuring high-quality, responsive provision for children, young people and families. You will:
- Lead on the operational delivery and development of key service strands
- Manage access to the Family Wellbeing Service, making informed decisions around thresholds, safeguarding, and pathway planning
- Oversee step-up and step-down arrangements, ensuring families receive the right support at the right time
- Provide effective leadership and supervision to a team of 7 practitioners supporting families with complex and diverse needs.
- Work in partnership with internal and external agencies to improve outcomes and meet performance and quality standards

We are looking for a qualified social worker with strong practice knowledge, confident decision-making skills, and the ability to lead a team through complexity and change.
