  • Coordinating training programmes, exercises, meetings, audits and inspections.
  • Tracking and monitoring actions arising from exercises, debriefs, inspections and reviews.
  • Working closely with managers and services across the Council to gather information and monitor progress against agreed actions.
  • Supporting the management of first aider and fire warden records, risk assessment registers and related compliance processes.
  • Contributing to the ongoing development and improvement of the Council's emergency planning, resilience and health and safety arrangements.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys working collaboratively, has excellent organisational skills and takes pride in ensuring that important processes run smoothly and effectively.

This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week on a 12 month fixed term contract. This role offers the benefit of hybrid working, combining office-based working with home working, according to business needs.

About You:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience providing administrative, coordination or business support within a busy team, service or project environment.
  • Strong organisational skills, with experience maintaining accurate records, databases, spreadsheets and action logs.
  • Confident IT skills, using Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams and SharePoint.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work independently and to work collaboratively, liaising with a range of stakeholders and to produce clear reports and documentation.
  • An understanding of, or interest in, health and safety, risk management, business continuity or emergency planning, with a willingness to undertake further professional training and development.
