Senior Automation Specialist

About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Council at the start of its automation journey, designing and delivering automation solutions that improve the efficiency, reliability and scalability of the services we provide. As Senior Automation Specialist you will identify automation opportunities and implement solutions using Power Automate, Python, AI and robotic process automation.
You will work closely with Transformation and Digital Services, ICT and Council service areas to streamline workflows, reduce manual effort and improve data quality. You will also support and enhance the Council’s Performance Management solution and contribute to standards and best practice for automation.
This is a full time role working 37 hours per week on a permanent contract. We offer a hybrid working arrangement, combining the flexibility to work from home with time in the office as required (approximately two days a month).

About You:
You will have strong practical experience in automation and process improvement, with the ability to design and deliver robust solutions in a complex environment.
You will have experience delivering end-to-end automation projects, analysing business processes, and implementing improvements using Power Automate, Python, AI and RPA.
You will also have strong analytical, organisational and communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Essential Requirements
- Strong experience delivering automation solutions
- Excellent knowledge of Power Automate
- Strong Python skills
- Understanding of APIs, integrations and data flows
- Strong stakeholder communication skills
- Desirable Requirements
- SQL knowledge
- Experience with Power Apps / Power BI
- Local government experience
- SharePoint experience
