Housing Finance Officer

About the Role:
We have an opportunity for an organised and enthusiastic Housing Finance Officer to join our team. In this role you will support the delivery of an effective rental income and arrears management service across the MBC Housing Portfolio. You will set up and maintain tenancies and rent accounts, process payments, complete daily banking, and administer resident refunds in line with policy.
The role involves managing rent arrears through direct contact with residents and external partners, responding to enquiries, and ensuring accurate data across systems including Agresso, Dynamics and Huume. You will maintain and review Power BI dashboards, provide timely performance reports, and support compliance with regulatory standards.
You will also work closely with Finance, Housing Benefit, Council Tax and other teams to ensure good account management and robust financial control, while contributing to service improvements and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders.
This is a full-time position working 37 hours per week on a permanent contract.
This role offers the benefit of hybrid working, with office working at least 2 days per week and working from home. There is also the occasional need to support on resident property visits, as required.
About You:
You will be educated to degree level or equivalent with experience working in Housing and/or Finance. You will have a good understanding of rent account management with excellent data analysis skills and the ability to translate data into varying formats, as suitable for the audience.
You will have good communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships with stakeholders. You will be organised with a keen eye for details and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
A full UK driving licence and use of your own vehicle to travel to sites across the borough will also be required.
