Lewisham has a new administration with an ambitious agenda focused on delivering safer and more affordable homes, cleaner and greener neighbourhoods, healthier communities, and a fairer local economy. Working directly with Cabinet Members, you will help turn priorities into action.

As Cabinet Executive Officer, you will provide high-quality policy, research and organisational support to Cabinet Members. You will prepare briefings and speeches, manage complex correspondence and stakeholder relationships, support policy development, and help ensure Cabinet Members are fully equipped to lead and deliver for Lewisham residents.

What we’re looking for

We're looking for someone with excellent organisational and communication skills who can manage competing priorities and tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.

You'll be confident undertaking research, producing high-quality written work and handling sensitive matters with professionalism and discretion. You will enjoy building relationships across a wide range of stakeholders, be politically aware, and have the adaptability to work in a fast-paced environment supporting senior elected decision-makers.

Most importantly, you will be passionate about public service and helping shape outcomes that improve the lives of Lewisham residents.

Location 
The job is primarily based in Civic Suite, Catford, but we operate a hybrid approach where you will be required to work both in the office and from home on a regular basis. The Mayor's Office expects staff to work from the office 3 days per week.

Special conditions
This post is politically restricted.
Evening work and attendance at meetings outside normal office hours may be required.
The post holder will be required to work flexibly to meet the needs of the Mayor and Cabinet Office.

Salary

£44,235 - 45,852 per annum (P01)

N.B: All appointments will be offered at the minimum spinal column point (SCP) for the grade of the role. The only exception to this will be when matching current salary (up to the maximum of the scale), which is subject to evidential proof.
