What’s the role?

As an Arranging Care Officer, you will play a key role in brokering and coordinating care packages for adults who need emergency, temporary, or long‑term residential, nursing or community‑based support. You’ll ensure each person receives the right care in the most independent, cost‑effective and enabling setting possible.

Working closely with social workers, healthcare professionals, providers and families, you will:

  • Provide high‑quality information and advice to service users and their representatives
  • Support service transitions, hospital discharges, and urgent placements

This is a role for someone who enjoys combining problem-solving, coordination, communication and professional judgement to ensure people receive the care they need—at the right time and in the right way.

What’s in it for you?

Excellent training and development opportunities, plus a range of benefits including:

  • Generous holiday allowance
  • Local Government Pension scheme
  • Flexible working and family friendly policies
  • Season ticket and bicycle loans
  • A range of staff discounts including local subsidised gym memberships
  • Supportive staff networks

A team‑focused approach and the ability to work professionally, respectfully and sensitively with people.

Knowledge of contracting, funding or purchasing arrangements in health and social care.

Strong organisational and case-management skills with the ability to prioritise a varied workload in a fast‑paced environment.

Strong record‑keeping, IT and administrative skills.

Excellent communication, negotiation and partnership working skills.

If you’re detail‑oriented, solution‑focused, and committed to improving outcomes for vulnerable adults, we’d love to hear from you.
