Introduction
To provide a health and safety advice, support to deliver housing service to ensure that London Borough of Lewisham can meet its legal obligations across all relevant statutory health and safety legislation and guidance.
The Housing Health & Safety Manager will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight across all housing‑related health and safety functions To contribute to a process-based best practice approach to health & safety and act as a subject matter advisor for managers within the housing directorate. To drive and enable suitable and sufficient risk assessment of tasks and activities within the Council housing directorate.

This role is central to delivering safe, compliant, and accountable housing services, To foresee requirements for developments in Health, Safety, Statutory Compliance and Welfare practices to meet changing needs within the Council or in response to legal and legislative changes, working together with other Health & Safety Business Partners and the Council’s Corporate Health & Safety Team.

What we’re looking for
We are looking for someone that has an Understanding of the Health, Safety and Welfare Legal and Statutory requirements, responsibilities and obligations of a large, diverse and complex organisation.
Understanding of the Health, Safety and Welfare policies, strategies, practices, systems, audits, reviews, performance standards and targets needed to ensure compliance with Legal and Statutory requirements, responsibilities and obligations of a large, diverse and complex organisation
Understanding of Local Government structures.
Qualifications.
Nebosh national diploma
Graduate Member of IOSH
Location
The job is primarily based in Laurence House but we operate a hybrid approach where you will be required to work both in the office and from home on a regular basis.

Salary
£60,633 - £62,742 per annum (P07)
N.B: All appointments will be offered at the minimum spinal column point (SCP) for the grade of the role. The only exception to this will be when matching current salary (up to the maximum of the scale), which is subject to evidential proof.
