What’s the role?
As an HR Business Partner, you will work with managers and leaders to ensure our colleagues deliver exceptional public services for Lewisham residents. From day one, senior leaders will look to you to support them manage a range of HR change and employee relations matters. You will provide expert advice on complex case management, HR policy, restructures and a wider employee engagement activity.

What we’re looking for:
This posting is available for 1 year and as such, will suit an individual with experience of HR Business Partnering and advisory activity in a local authority or public sector context.
The work can be fast paced and you will need to demonstrate flexibility, pragmatism and confidence to work with autonomy and build trusted and enduring relationships with managers and leaders. You will be expected to work collaboratively across the HR function and the wider organisation and contribute to initiatives to build effective workforce management capability; enshrining a consistent, data-driven, considered and values-based approach in all that we do.
Location
The job is primarily based in Laurence House in Catford, London, SE6 4RU with occasional travel to other borough locations. We operate a hybrid approach where you will be required to work both in the office and from home on a regular basis. As this role interfaces with many front-line services, you need to be prepared to work across Council offices in the Borough both virtually and on a face to basis. You will be expected to our offices or other sites at least two days a week.
Special conditions
- Qualifications - Chartered membership of the Institute of Personnel and Development or demonstrable equivalent experience required.

Salary
£52,269-£54,360 per annum (PO4)
N.B: All appointments will be offered at the minimum spinal column point (SCP) for the grade of the role. The only exception to this will be when matching current salary (up to the maximum of the scale), which is subject to evidential proof.
