The Early Years Foundation Stage is a particularly important part of our school. Our governors of Westbrook Lane are ambitious for the school and are seeking to appoint a 0.6 EYFS teacher who shares in our vision and will contribute to the continued development of high-quality practice.

What We Are Looking For

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, skilled and reflective EYFS practitioner who is passionate about giving every child the very best start to their education. The successful candidate will share our commitment to our vision and will play a key role in shaping high-quality early years provision within our school.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be an excellent classroom practitioner with a strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage and how young children learn best
  • Have high expectations for all children and a commitment to ensuring every child achieves their full potential from their starting points
  • Demonstrate a clear commitment to developing children’s communication and language, early reading and early mathematics through engaging and purposeful provision
  • Be skilled in creating a stimulating, language-rich learning environment that promotes independence, curiosity and sustained engagement
  • Value the importance of high-quality interactions and be adept at extending children’s thinking through play and talk
  • Build warm, positive relationships with children, families and colleagues, contributing to our inclusive and supportive school community
  • Be reflective and proactive, with a desire to continually develop their practice and contribute to whole-school improvement
  • Work effectively as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility, professionalism and a positive attitude
