As a Breeze Event Officer working in a small team you  will oversee the management and delivery of a number of child friendly events and festivals, you will thrive on being in the middle of our events programme having the opportunity to bring to life fun, safe, engaging and creative programmes and events that make Leeds the best city for children to grow up in.

About you

As a Project Officer for the Breeze Team you will bring to the role:

  • Knowledge and experience of writing and implementing event action plans and schedules.
  • Knowledge and experience in writing risk assessments and safe operating procedures.
  • Experience of driving a range of vehicles.
  • Experience of leading elements on large scale events
  • Experience of preparing and writing reports and evaluations
  • Educated to Degree level or professional vocational or post graduate qualifications within the events industry (or a relevant subject / area)

About the role

As a Project Officer, you’ll have a strong passion for events and the ability to solve problems think creatively and deliver practical solutions.  You will be able to work to tight schedules and deadlines collaborate and network effectively across a wide range of a staff, contractors, stakeholders, and where necessary clients. The successful candidate will be able to work flexibly and calmly under pressure across multiple projects simultaneously and be able to prioritise work programmes and meet deadlines.

The role is integral to the Breeze team within the Arts, Events & Venues service which organises and manages a diverse programme of events across the city throughout the year.

    Job Description

    Job Purpose: ToTo manage the development and delivery of fun and safe family friendly events throughout the year within budget.

    Responsibilities for Grade:

    • To lead key projects and events in the Breeze Team
    • To contribute to the development of the Breeze Teams offer including but not limited to; Healthy Holidays Scheme, Halloween scare event, The Christmas Experience as well as private AAE and corporate bookings.
    • To support the recruitment and training of casual event staff, to set excellent standards ensuring that the workforce provides the best experience for young people and families in Leeds.
    • To direct and supervise the work of Event/Project workers and volunteers
    • To manage budgets assigned to the events / projects that the post will be responsible for in accordance with Leeds City Councils Financial Regulations.
    • To create, complete and submit the appropriate reports and funding documents to ensure, projects and events run to budget.
    • To liaise with a range of partners both internal and external to the council, meeting the aims and objectives of the Breeze Team while supporting the councils ambition to be the best city for child to grow up in.
    • To liaise and engage with a range of stakeholders maintaning strong and effective communication channels.
    • To support communication and attend relevant meetings and briefings including those involving businesses, Ward members, Community Committees, voluntary and statutory agencies, community groups and .
    • To undertake any other duties which may be assigned from time to time and that are commensurate with the grade of the post.
    • To undertake the accountabilities of the post in accordance with council policies including the Equal Opportunities and Health & Safety policies.

    Qualifications:

    • A degree or equivalent qualifications in a relevant discipline or able to demonstrate extensive experience in events or a related field.
