About the Team:
The Information Governance function is responsible for proactively supporting services to implement the Information Governance (IG) Framework, to remove risk aversion and improve information flows both within the Council and with partners.
Furthermore the Information Governance function provides a Data Protection Officer (DPO) service to schools as required by General Data Protection Regulation / DPA 2018 in so far as schools are public authorities and therefore require a DPO
About the Role:
In this role the Information Governance Officer will undertake a range of operational duties and professional activities under the direction of their line manager. They will work on Subject Access Requests. They will need to work at pace and have a keen eye for accuracy along with an understanding of the regulations and Laws that govern our output.
The successful applicant needs to be able to work cohesively in a team or independently. Work will be reviewed on a frequent basis against agreed targets for speed and accuracy.
Previous experience of review work desirable. They need to be proficient in excel and SharePoint, and have experience of handling complex, confidential and highly sensitive casework.
Information Governance Officers are responsible for proactively supporting services to implement the Information Governance (IG) Framework
Some of their work may involve resolving issues beyond the ordinary operations of the IG Service or contributing to new programmes or projects.
