Lambeth Music Service - Music Tutor

Salary:  £38.74 per hour

Saturdays, 4 hours per week

Lambeth Music Service is looking to add to its team of highly skilled and enthusiastic music tutors working in large group settings. We are specifically looking for music tutors to deliver access classes to younger learners on a Saturday morning during term time

 

About the Role:

You will deliver several 45-minute sessions for groups of up to 20 children taking their first steps on their musical journey. Ages range from reception to KS1. The learning focus is on general musicianship using a range of resources including recorders, djembes, glockenspiels, hand bells and voice.

We aim to provide children with foundation skills whilst also being fun and engaging.

Candidates should demonstrate:

•        Ability to inspire and engage children of all abilities and backgrounds including young children who are neurodiverse.

•        Experience of large group tuition to younger children.

•        High professional standards and a commitment to delivering to the music centre’s expectations.

 

Successful applicants will be added to our team of sessional music tutors and will also be offered other work as it becomes available, which may include whole-class ensemble tuition, peripatetic teaching, and further teaching at our Saturday music centre.
