Insight, Evaluation and Learning Manager (Place)
Kent County Council
Role Responsibility
Are you passionate about using insight, evaluation and learning to support meaningful change in communities?
Active Kent & Medway is looking for an experienced and collaborative Insight, Evaluation & Learning Manager (Place) to join the team. This is an exciting opportunity to shape how learning is used to support place-based working in areas of greatest need, helping partners understand what is changing, why it matters and how that learning can improve future action.
Active Kent & Medway is one of 43 Active Partnerships in England. We are hosted by Kent County Council and funded by Sport England to tackle inactivity, which is driven by inequalities. We believe in the power of getting ‘more people, more active, more often’ for physical and mental health, as well as individual, social, community and economic development.
In this role, you will lead the development of a learning-led approach to monitoring, evaluation and learning across place-based work. You will work with colleagues, partners and communities to build a stronger understanding of how change happens, using a mix of insight, data, research and storytelling to support decision-making and continuous improvement. You will help develop evaluation frameworks, shape proportionate approaches to evidence gathering, lead reporting for partners including Sport England and the Board, and ensure learning is shared in ways that are clear, accessible and useful.
The role provides an exciting opportunity for someone with a successful track record and experience in research, monitoring, evaluation and learning to help us change the status quo and make a difference to people’s lives across Kent and Medway.
This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
Closing Date: 28th June 2026
