Role Responsibility
At Kent County Council, we have ambitious plans to improve the lives of our 1.6 million residents. Delivering for a county of this size means tackling complex challenges, offering varied and rewarding work, and constantly striving to improve how we do things. That’s where you come in.
By joining one of the largest local authorities in the UK, you’ll play a key role in supporting both children and adults across Kent while developing your own career in the process.
As a Network Planning and Stakeholder Engagement Officer, you will support the Local Bus and Schools Transport Manager and work closely with a wide range of internal and external partners. Building positive relationships with suppliers, clients, and stakeholders will be central to your success.
This is a highly varied role where no two days are the same. Key responsibilities include, monitoring the local bus network and responding to operational changes, managing contracts and supporting service delivery, coordinating stakeholder communications and attending meetings, managing the impact of road closures on transport services, overseeing team inboxes and responding to routine enquiries, using specialist IT systems to handle customer enquiries and maintain records, ensuring accurate client, contract, and financial data is maintained
To succeed in this role, you will be, organised, proactive, and able to manage your own workload, passionate about delivering high-quality services to the people of Kent, interested in transport and how it supports communities, an effective communicator, confident dealing with a variety of stakeholders, experienced in customer service, with the ability to handle challenging situations, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
In return, you’ll benefit from a strong work-life balance with access to a range of employee rewards and benefits. You will work within a supportive team environment based in Aylesford, working a 37-hour week, typically between 08:00 and 17:00. The role has flexible working arrangements, including a mix of home and office-based work.
