Role Responsibility

Principle duties would include processing certificate orders for birth, death, marriage and civil partnership certificates for events that took place in Kent; advising the public on the requirements for, and published standards for, obtaining copy certificates; scan register entries from registers using registration databases and hand write certificates; answer general enquiries from customers and provide the highest possible standards of customer care to both internal and external customers
You will be required to provide an excellent level of customer service dealing with customers face to face, over the telephone or via e-mail. You should be able to communicate effectively and have excellent organisational skills. You will be required to have legible handwriting and be proficient in the use of Internet based packages, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. You should be able to prioritise to meet deadlines, be flexible and a team player..
This post will be will be based in Tunbridge Wells. Working days required are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
