Are you passionate about tackling health inequalities and improving opportunities for our coastal communities in Kent? We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Marmot Coastal Region Coordinator to play a key role in delivering the Kent Marmot Coastal Region initiative.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a high-profile, evidence-based initiative using the Marmot principles and focused on reducing inequalities and improving health along the Kent coast.
About the Role
As the Marmot Coastal Region Coordinator, you will work with the UCL Institute of Health Equity, departments and teams across Kent County Council and partners across local authorities, the NHS, VCSE sector, education and employers; you will help turn strategy into action.
A central focus of the role will be identifying, developing, and implementing Marmot Accelerator projects—practical interventions that support residents into training and good work.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and support development of the Marmot Coastal Region
Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to embed Marmot principles locally
Identify opportunities for and lead on Marmot Accelerator projects, particularly those that:
Improve access to training and employment
Support people furthest from the labour market
Promote fair and good-quality work
Facilitate partnership working across statutory and voluntary sectors
Monitor, evaluate, and report on progress and impact
Support engagement with local communities and stakeholders
About You
You will be:
An experienced coordinator or project manager with a strong understanding of public health or social policy
Skilled in partnership working across complex systems
Passionate about reducing inequalities and improving life chances
Able to translate strategy into practical, deliverable projects
A confident communicator with strong organisational skills
Additional Requirements
Ability to travel regularly across Kent to engage with partners and communities
Flexible approach to working across multiple locations and organisations

This is a full-time post, fixed term for two years. Flexible and hybrid working arrangements are available.
This post is subject to a Basic Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
