At Kent County Council, Occupational Therapy is central to helping people live the lives that matter most to them. Our Community Occupational Therapy teams are co-located with our in-house enablement services and work closely with Community Social Work, Adult Social Care Connect and Short-term Pathway teams. Together, we take a coordinated, preventative and creative approach that maximises independence and delivers meaningful outcomes.
The opportunity
We are looking for an inspiring
Senior Practitioner Occupational Therapist
to join our Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells Community OT Team. This is an opportunity to lead and support a talented team of Occupational Therapists and Occupational Therapy Assessment Officers, strengthening day-to-day clinical practice and driving excellent team performance.
You will work collaboratively with Social Care Connect, Kent Enablement at Home and Community Social Work teams, championing the role of Occupational Therapy in preventing, reducing and delaying the need for care and support. Your leadership will help more people remain safe, confident and independent in their own homes.

Most importantly, your expertise will enable the people we support to receive high-quality, personalised interventions that genuinely improve lives.
A flexible way of working
Kent County Council supports flexible and hybrid working. Assessments and interventions take place in people’s own homes or short-term assessment bed settings. Non-clinical work can be completed between your office base and home, with attendance at the office base at least twice a week.
We are committed to making our services increasingly accessible outside traditional office hours. Occupational Therapists do not currently work on a seven-day rota, although this may be required in the future.
Driving requirement:
This role is subject to holding a full UK driving licence. The Council is committed to making reasonable adjustments, so although the role requires the postholder to drive, your application will still be considered if you are unable to drive due to a disability.

The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 to ensure that postholders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the role. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
