Role Responsibility
Kent County Council (KCC) is one of the largest local authorities in the country, delivering a wide range of essential services to local communities.
We are looking for a highly organised and customer-focused Business Support Assistant to provide a comprehensive, efficient and high-quality administrative support service across the Infrastructure division. This is a varied and rewarding role that plays an important part in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of business support functions and the effective delivery of services.
The role provides administrative support to managers and teams, helping to coordinate meetings, maintain records, process correspondence and support a range of business processes. You will be responsible for ensuring information is accurately recorded and managed, responding to enquiries from colleagues, customers and external stakeholders, and providing a professional first point of contact where required.
The role requires excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities in a busy environment. You will be expected to support the preparation of documents, reports and presentations, maintain electronic filing systems and databases, and assist with the organisation of meetings and events. You will work closely with colleagues across the division, contributing to the delivery of effective and efficient support services and helping to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
What we are looking for
We're seeking someone who has:
Experience of providing administrative or business support within a busy office environment.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and the confidence to engage with a wide range of stakeholders.
Good attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate work to a high standard.
Strong IT skills, including experience of Microsoft Office applications and digital collaboration tools.
The ability to work independently whilst also contributing positively as part of a team.
A proactive and flexible approach, with a willingness to learn new skills and support a variety of business activities.
Good problem-solving skills and the ability to take ownership of tasks through to completion.
An understanding of the importance of handling sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
A commitment to delivering excellent customer service and maintaining positive working relationships.
