Role Responsibility

Are you looking for an opportunity to support work that helps protect and enhance Kent's natural environment? We have an exciting opportunity to join Kent County Council's Natural Environment and Coast Team as an
Ecological Advice Service Technical Support Officer.
As part of the Ecological Advice Service, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of ecological advice across Kent. Acting as the first point of contact for consultations, enquiries and planning applications, you will manage and maintain the team's databases, coordinate incoming work, support the management of the biodiversity inbox and ensure biodiversity officers have the information they need to assess ecological impacts effectively.
We're looking for an organised and proactive individual with excellent attention to detail and strong administrative skills. You will be confident managing information, prioritising competing demands and communicating with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your knowledge of planning, biodiversity and the important role ecology plays in supporting sustainable growth across Kent.
This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
We reserve the right to close this vacancy early if we receive a sufficient number of applications.
