London, United Kingdom£53,076Full timeCloses: 2026-10-04T22:59:00+00:00

Lead vital employment and financial welfare services to build long-term resilience across our local communities.

As our Employment & Financial Welfare Team Manager, you’ll lead services that build financial resilience and create lasting employment opportunities for our residents.

Working Style

You’ll be based in the Borough for three days a week, playing a key role in serving the local community. Whether you’re working on the frontline or behind the scenes, you’ll be part of a dedicated team making a real difference to residents’ lives.

What you’ll be doing

Your focus will balance operational management with strategic project oversight to strengthen financial stability and skills across the borough. You’ll lead and support a team of advisers, managing casework, performance, risk, and compliance with care and clarity.

A key part of your role involves coordinating targeted campaigns using Low-Income Family Tracker (LIFT) data to identify households at risk, preventing homelessness and tackling inequality before crisis hits. You’ll also oversee developers’ Section 106 commitments to ensure local residents gain access to training, apprenticeships, and quality job opportunities generated by local developments.

Alongside managing ongoing welfare reform initiatives, you’ll drive resident engagement through projects such as the Career Zone Portal and community outreach. Working closely with teams across Housing, Economy, and Learning—as well as voluntary organisations and government departments—you’ll deliver joined-up, responsive services rooted in care and competence.

What you’ll bring

You’ll bring proven experience managing an employment and income-maximisation function within a housing or community environment. You're an experienced leader, with at least two years managing and motivating teams through reflective supervision and staff development.

You have a track record of running multi-stakeholder projects, managing budgets, and using data analysis to monitor performance and drive continuous service improvement. You’re also confident in partnership working, GDPR-compliant case management, and delivering training to diverse audiences.

Supporting residents facing complex needs requires empathy, resilience, adaptability, clear communication, and sound judgement.

Most importantly, you’re someone with a firm commitment to equality and our core values: putting communities first, acting with integrity, showing respect, and working together.

Why join us

At RBKC, we’re all in – investing in our people, our communities and our future.

You’ll lead a collaborative, supportive, and highly respected team where your work directly influences service design across departments. We offer a competitive salary alongside comprehensive opportunities for professional development, training, and career progression.

We also provide flexible working options, wellbeing support, and a culture where getting stuck in leads to real, visible progress for our residents.

About us

Managing complex welfare reform and data-led LIFT campaigns means it won’t always be smooth sailing, but every ounce of effort pays off. When you commit fully, challenges become genuine opportunities for growth and long-term resilience for our community.
