About The Role

We have exciting opportunity for an ATM in the Fostering Team. This role supports the provision of high quality fostering services to looked after children, foster carers, private foster carers and close liaison with social workers from other children services teams in Hounslow.

The ATM will need to be committed in managing and supporting Supervising Social workers to carry out their duties and responsibilities in line with the Fostering Regulations and Minimum Standards. The ATM will work to maintain high standards of professional practice, working at all times in the best interests of children and foster carers, ensuring that all the staff you supervise have clear evidence based practice.

Within this role you will be expected to contribute to the strategic policy and procedural developments of the fostering service.

About The Team You’ll Be Working In

The fostering team is a part of the children and Adult safeguarding team and sits under Corporate parenting. There are two ATM’s of which one focuses on the completion of annual reviews of foster carers. The other ATM provides supervision and management oversight of Supervising Social Workers. There this will be the role of the additional ATM. The ATM’s also provide peer group supervision and reflective supervision. There are 8 Supervising Social Workers and a recruitment and training co-ordinator.

The team is involved in the recruitment, assessment, training and support of foster carers. The completion of form F assessments, and presentation to the fostering and permanency panel for qualified determination. Approval of foster carers yearly annual reviews, in line with the National Minimum Standards.

The team also offers support and advice to regulation 24 carer and Staying Put Arrangements.

About You

1. To work closely with the Corporate Parenting Team Managers and social workers as well as the Placements Team to ensure appropriate accountability, and to deputise as necessary, including assisting the Team Manager in ensuring the effective monitoring and management of delegated responsibilities and budgets.

2. You will work to maintain high standards of professional practice, working at all times in the best interests of children and foster carers, ensuring that all the staff you supervise have clear evidence based practice and support plans in place on all allocated cases.

3. Within this role you will be expected to contribute to the strategic policy and procedural developments of the fostering service.

4. To ensure own and team’s professional knowledge is updated and that new legislation, policy and practice guidance is understood and implemented by the team.

5. To have management experience preferably in a fostering team.
