About The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of our Early Help and MASH Team as an Assistant Team Manager.

Purpose Of The Role:

• To ensure good outcomes for children and young people in need or at risk through the delivery of timely, high quality social work and Early Help services.

• To oversee as part of the wider management group, the smooth running of the Front Door including MASH.

• To lead on the implementation of the Children’s Domestic Abuse Offer and support the Family Help implementation and strengthened Early Help strategy.

• To provide effective day to day management, supervision and support to social workers, newly qualified social workers, Family Support practitioners and student social workers.

• To ensure that all contacts and referrals are responded to within timescales with clear directions and guidance, bringing children alive in management analysis.

• To liaise with partner agencies to ensure effective communication between partner agencies and Children Service.

• To ensure the highest standards of social work practice are provided to children and young people, managing performance via Hounslow policies and procedures.

• To chair key meetings with partner agencies and represent the service in different settings

•To be a visible member of the Management Team and to contribute to the strategic policy and procedural developments within their Team and across the service.

• To support the Team Manager in ensuring the highest professional standards of practice are evidenced through rigorous quality assurance processes in line with statutory guidelines.

• To ensure services are provided within set budgets and provide value for money.

About The Team You’ll Be Working In

We are seeking experienced and motivated Assistant Team Manager within the Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) and Early Help Service. Leading a dynamic and high performing team dedicated to ensuring timely, informed, and child centred decision making. The team work alongside a multi agency collaboration bringing together social care, education, health, police, and community partners to achieve a holistic understanding of risk and need. This integrated approach enables swift identification of concerns and ensures that children and families receive the right support at the earliest opportunity.

About You

• You bring extensive experience in statutory social work and have developed specialist knowledge relevant to MASH and Early Help. You use this expertise to provide confident oversight, guide professional curiosity, and support the development of practitioners across the service.

• You are skilled in managing complex, high volume, and fast paced operational demands. You demonstrate strong analytical decision making, professional accountability, and the ability to lead your team in delivering timely, high quality screening, triage, and early intervention responses.

• You provide robust supervision, mentoring, and practice oversight to staff, promoting reflective thinking, multi agency collaboration, and innovative approaches to prevent escalation of need. You ensure decision making remains child focused, safeguarding led, and fully aligned with statutory guidance and Council policies.
