About The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Caretaking Team as a Mobile Caretaker. In this role, you will travel between a range of designated sites, carrying out cleaning and caretaking duties within communal areas.
Working closely with the wider Teams, you will play a key role in maintaining high standards across our estates. You will help ensure that communal spaces are clean, safe and welcoming environments for our residents, while also identifying and reporting any maintenance issues.
You will be supported in your role through certified training in key areas such as Manual Handling, COSHH, and Asbestos Awareness, as well as other relevant health and safety disciplines. This will enable you to carry out your duties safely and effectively while continuing to develop your skills.
About The Team You’ll Be Working In
You will be part of our dedicated Caretaking Team within Housing Estates Services, whose key purpose is to maintain clean, safe and well-presented communal areas across our estates. The team plays a vital role in supporting the day-to-day environment our residents live in, helping to create spaces that residents can feel proud of.
Through your work, you will make a direct impact on residents’ quality of life by ensuring communal areas are welcoming, well maintained and free from hazards. The team works closely with colleagues across Housing, Grounds Maintenance and our Repairs Service to quickly identify and resolve estate issues, contributing to a responsive and resident-focused service.
The team includes Mobile Caretakers, Estate Caretakers and Bulk Drivers, all working collaboratively to deliver high standards across the borough. In this role, you will report to a Team Leader, who will support you in your day-to-day work and ongoing development.

2. You work well as part of a team and can collaborate with colleagues across housing and repairs services.
3. You are comfortable communicating with residents and colleagues, and responding positively to feedback.
4. You can follow procedures and work safely, with an awareness of health and safety requirements such as COSHH and fire safety.
5. You are reliable, organised and able to manage your workload across different sites, adapting to changing priorities when needed.
6. You can travel between locations and carry out physical aspects of the role, including working outdoors and handling equipment.
