About The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a high-performing Financial Assessment Service within Adult Social Care, ensuring residents receive a fair, accurate and customer-focused service.

You will bring experience of financial assessments, adult social care charging or welfare benefits, alongside strong leadership skills and a proven ability to drive performance and service improvement. A sound understanding of the Care Act 2014 and means-tested assessments will be essential to your success.

As a key leader, you will oversee service delivery, manage complex casework and support the continuous development of the service to achieve the best outcomes for residents and the Council.

About The Team You’ll Be Working In

  • You will provide leadership across the Customer Financial Services team, ensuring the delivery of an effective financial assessment service for Adult Social Care residents.
  • You will have direct management responsibility for 5 Financial Assessment Officers, overseeing performance, quality and service delivery.
  • Your leadership will be key to managing complex casework, driving continuous improvement, and working with partners across the Council to deliver the best outcomes for residents.

About You

We are looking for an experienced and motivated leader who can demonstrate:

  • Significant experience in means-tested financial assessments, adult social care charging, welfare benefits or a related financial services environment.
  • Strong knowledge of the Care Act 2014, welfare benefits and financial assessment legislation, policy and practice.
  • A proven track record of managing teams and delivering high-quality, customer-focused services.
  • Experience of driving performance, quality assurance and continuous improvement through effective leadership and performance management.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate, coach and develop others.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience of working collaboratively across services and with external partners.
  • The ability to manage complex casework, make sound decisions and balance competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • A customer-focused, resilient and solution-oriented approach, with a commitment to delivering positive outcomes for residents.
  • A commitment to Hounslow's values of leading with heart, embracing innovation, empowering others, working collaboratively and taking ownership to achieve results.
