The Cedars School is excited to be expanding its provision into Key Stage 3 from September 26.

We are therefore looking for committed and reflective teachers (2/3 roles) to join our team, working initially within our primary provision, with a view to transitioning into Key Stage 3 as our provision continues to develop.

At The Cedars, our mission is simple: where roots take hold, minds grow, and children thrive. We are a school for pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs, many of whom are also neurodivergent. We prioritise relationships, emotional safety and consistency, recognising that when children feel safe, valued and understood, they are far more able to engage with learning.

Our work is guided by three core values — being safe, being ready and being respectful — which underpin everything we do, from classroom practice to wider school life. We understand behaviour as communication and place equal importance on social-emotional development and academic progress.

This is rewarding work, but it is not always easy. Progress can be gradual and sometimes unpredictable, but it is meaningful — whether that’s a pupil re-engaging with learning, managing a difficult moment differently, or beginning to see themselves more positively.

We are looking for someone who:

  • has experience working with pupils with SEMH needs and/or neurodiversity (in KS2 or KS3)
  • builds strong, consistent relationships with children and families
  • can work flexibly and adapt their approach, while maintaining clear boundaries, routines and expectations
  • is resilient, reflective, and able to keep a sense of humour and perspective
  • is motivated by improving the life chances of vulnerable learners

In return, we offer:

  • a supportive, experienced and grounded staff team
  • a culture that recognises both the rewards and the challenges of the role, with a genuine focus on staff wellbeing
  • opportunities for professional development, including working across phases as our Key Stage 3 provision grows
  • a working environment where people look out for each other and where relationships matter — with pupils, families and colleagues

This role would suit someone who wants to do meaningful, rewarding work, be part of an inclusive team, and contribute to a school that is continuing to grow and develop.

Visits to the school are welcomed – please contact the school office on 020 8230 0015 to arrange.
