About the role
Hillingdon Council is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Stores Apprentice (Level 2) to join our Stores team based at Harlington Road Depot, Hayes.
This is an excellent opportunity to begin your career while gaining a nationally recognised Level 2 apprenticeship qualification. You'll receive hands-on training and practical experience in stores management, stock control, procurement and customer service, developing valuable skills within a busy operational environment.
Working as part of the Stores team, you will help ensure Council services have the equipment, materials, personal protective equipment (PPE) and supplies they need to deliver essential services to residents across the borough.

Hours: 36 hours per week
Contract: Fixed Term ApprenticeshipYou will:
- Receive, check, store and issue stock, equipment and materials.
- Assist with stock control, inventory management and stock replenishment.
- Support the ordering and procurement of goods and supplies.
- Obtain quotations for non-stock items.
- Help distribute PPE, uniforms and equipment to Council services.
- Maintain accurate stock records and update inventory systems.
- Support deliveries and ensure goods are stored safely and securely.
- Provide excellent customer service to Council departments, suppliers and contractors.
- Learn and follow health and safety procedures within a stores environment.
- Develop practical skills while working towards your Level 2 apprenticeship qualification.
About You
We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, reliable and keen to build a career in stores, logistics, procurement or supply chain management.
The ideal candidate will:
- Be eager to learn and develop new skills.
- Have good communication and customer service skills.
- Be organised, reliable and able to work accurately.
- Have basic IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Enjoy working as part of a team.
- Have a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
- Be able to carry out manual handling duties following appropriate training.
- Be committed to delivering excellent customer service.
Previous stores experience is not required. Full training, support and mentoring will be provided throughout your apprenticeship.
