  • About the role

  • We are looking for an experienced and motivated Brokerage and Direct Payments Team Leader to lead our Brokerage and Direct Payments service within Adult Social Care and Health. This is an exciting opportunity to manage a dedicated team responsible for arranging high-quality, cost-effective care and support packages that help residents live independently and achieve positive outcomes.

    You will be responsible for overseeing team performance, driving service improvement and supporting the transformation of the service through the use of automation, digital solutions and innovative ways of working. Working closely with social care colleagues, providers, commissioning teams and strategic partners, you will ensure care packages and direct payments are arranged efficiently, represent value for money and meet the needs of residents.

    Key responsibilities include:

    • Leading and developing a team of Brokerage and Direct Payments Officers to deliver a high-quality and responsive service.
    • Ensuring care packages and direct payments are arranged in a timely, cost-effective manner to meet residents' assessed needs.
    • Managing team performance, workloads and service delivery against agreed targets and service standards.
    • Supporting service transformation, digital innovation and continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Developing strong relationships with providers, social care teams, commissioning colleagues and other stakeholders.
    • Monitoring performance, analysing data and producing management information to support decision-making and market development.

    About You

    We are looking for a confident leader with experience of working within Adult Social Care, brokerage, commissioning or a related service area.

    You will have:

    • Experience managing or supervising a team and supporting staff development and performance.
    • Strong knowledge of care and support services, personal budgets, direct payments or brokerage processes.
    • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
    • Experience using data, performance information and management reports to drive service improvement.
    • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results.
    • A commitment to delivering excellent customer service, achieving value for money and improving outcomes for residents.

    You will be proactive, solutions-focused and passionate about supporting residents to achieve greater independence, choice and control over their care and support.
