This is an exciting time to be joining Havering Educational Psychology Service (EPS), a thriving, fully-staffed EP team who are expanding (again!).
We are seeking applications from individuals who want to apply psychology to promote positive outcomes for children, young people and families in Havering, working with Havering’s schools and other educational settings. While being a part of all aspects of what the EP team do, the successful applicant will operate within an Experts at Hand model, supporting schools and settings to build their own capacity to meet the needs of children and young people.
This will include:
- Embedding guidance and associated training for schools and settings on emotionally based school avoidance (EBSA)
- Assist in evaluating the impact of interventions and projects.
- Support the scaling of initiatives across schools, ensuring consistency and sustainability.
We are keen to hear from applicants with experience of project management / research, delivering training to schools, and experience of promoting inclusive practice in schools. The candidate would be expected to be able to demonstrate the excellent communication, organisation, and independent working skills, needed to support the management and delivery of these projects.
The role will involve regular time working in Havering schools and settings and so is not suitable for candidates seeking a role with a high level of distance / home working.
We offer:
- An excellent induction package
- Dedicated business support (e.g., you simply save your reports in your out tray)
- Regular supervision (individual professional supervision; group practice supervision)
- Protected CPD time
- The chance to be part of a supportive, vibrant, talented team of close to twenty Senior, Maingrade, Trainee and Assistant EPs
- Excellent links with training providers, with Academic & Professionals Tutors at two universities among the staff team, as well as Fieldwork Tutors hosting Year 1 TEPs
- An excellent balance between home/flexible working arrangements and time together as a team to create, collaborate and develop a sense of belonging
- Easily accessible workspaces
- Excellent transport links to inner and outer London including via the Elizabeth Line, as well as to Essex, Hertfordshire and surrounding areas
- High quality IT equipment and responsive IT support
We would like to invite applicants who:
- Have a degree in psychology and are interested in a career in educational psychology.
- Have experience of working with children and young people with special educational needs.
- Have experience of leading or taking a high level of responsibility in the planning, delivery and evaluation of projects or research focused on outcomes for children or young people.
