Educational Psychologist - Job Profile

This is an exciting time to be joining Havering Educational Psychology Service (EPS), a thriving, fully-staffed EP team who are expanding (again!).

Havering EPS sits within the wider SEND Service, offering EPs the chance to work closely with Advisory Teachers, Occupational Therapists, Havering's 0 - 5 Team, among many others, through our Team Around the School Approach. EPs bring to this multi-professional service their distinct psychological contribution.

We are seeking applications from qualified Educational Psychologists or Trainee Educational Psychologists in their final year of training. We want to hear from those who are looking to join a dynamic, inter-disciplinary and child-centred service, who are committed to applying psychology to make a difference for children, young people and families in Havering, and are committed to anti-racist practice.

Havering EPs have protected time to support schools, colleges and special provisions through training, consultation, organisational change and policy work, as well as for targeted early intervention work, in addition to undertaking statutory work. As well as supporting their own 'patch' of schools and settings, all EPs have the opportunity to explore their passions and contribute to the design and delivery of a wide and expanding SEND Training Offer.

Working within Havering’s Educational Psychology Service offers:

  • A tailored induction and senior transition package
  • Business support to streamline report and diary systems
  • Regular supervision, including senior peer supervision and leadership development
  • Protected CPD time
  • A friendly and talented team of nearly twenty EPs
  • Strong links with training providers and universities
  • Opportunities to work across a range of settings including Mainstream, Special Schools and SEND Units.
  • Flexible and hybrid working options
  • Excellent IT equipment and support
  • Easily accessible workspaces and strong transport links including the Elizabeth Line

An enhanced DBS check is required for this post.

For an informal discussion about this post, please contact Principal Educational Psychologist Dr Charlotte Harris (Charlotte.k.harris@havering.gov.uk) to arrange a time to speak.

The closing date for the receipt of applications is 22/05/2026, however interest in this job may be high and we therefore reserve the right to close the vacancy early.
