Within this role you will be responsible for the safety and security of the campus buildings, their keys and applicable tools. You need to be physically fit and healthy because you will be very active and on your feet most of the day carrying out regular patrols of the campus both internally and externally as well as carrying out rooms moves and room set-ups and taking in deliveries.
You will need to assist as appropriate with disruptive & aggressive situations within the building.
You will need to place repair requests and control the access of the contractors attending site and any other authorised persons. You will need to carry out a weekly compliance test on the fire alarm within the buildings (training will be given).
This role will suit someone who enjoys DIY as you will be required to carry out minor maintenance including replacing light consumables, clearing blocked toilets, drains, etc. Keeping the buildings, their grounds and access routes both inside and outside of the buildings clear of rubbish, debris and vegetation.
Hanging of banners and flags at flag raising ceremonies and ensuring the correct flags are always flying.
You will also need to assist with the emergency evacuations including being a first aider (for which training will be given).
You will be dealing with our residents, visitors, staff and contractors and will be expected to always uphold the high reputation of the Council.
A sense of humour is always useful.
You will work 36 hours per week between 7am and 10.30pm (shifts) between Monday and Saturday
