Health & Safety Adviser (Corporate) - Grade & Salary G6 - G8 £39276 - £53172pa
(Placement in the Grade will depend on qualifications, skills and experience)
The Corporate Health and Safety team are looking for a Health & Safety Adviser to join the team. The candidate should have a minimum qualification of the NEBOSH certificate and be working towards Diploma level qualification. The role will include providing health and safety advice across the organisation, incident investigation, developing management arrangements and monitoring compliance.
The successful candidate will be required to do the following:
- To provide a professional, comprehensive health and safety advisory service for all clients (including LBH and external clients) in order to achieve a continued improvement in health and safety performance and service delivery.
- To ensure that services are able to demonstrate compliance.
- To facilitate the implementation of the health and safety management system framework, statutory requirements for health, safety and welfare to ensure that the Council and Clients can demonstrate compliance.
- To act as the lead on designated projects, research and investigations
- To maximise income opportunities
- Be responsible for delivery of key actions from within the service priorities and KPIs e.g. Review of accidents and incidents to discuss outcomes with the manager on prevention, review of audits to support managers in moving forward with key items such as risk assessment, training etc., carry out risk assessments with managers etc
- Take on key projects from the action plan e.g. produce standards, monitor compliance, ensure statutory inspections are in place etc.
- Respond to general H&S enquiries.
- Maintain regular contact with managers and senior managers to support them and provide guidance, training and direction.
