Overview

The London Borough of Harrow is seeking a passionate and experienced Best Start Network Co-ordinator to join the Early Support Service within the People Directorate. This rewarding role offers the opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of children, young people and families across the borough by supporting the delivery of high-quality early intervention, family support and community-based services. Working closely with Early Support Managers, partner agencies and local communities, you will help ensure children and families receive the right support at the right time.

As a Best Start Network Co-ordinator, you will play a key role in coordinating services, projects and activities across Early Support centres and community settings. You will work with a wide range of professionals, including health, education, voluntary sector and community partners, to develop and deliver programmes that improve outcomes for children, young people and families. The role includes supporting service delivery, coordinating targeted interventions, managing centre cover arrangements when required, building strong partnerships and helping to ensure services remain responsive to local needs. You will also contribute to project planning, service development, performance monitoring and the continuous improvement of Early Support provision.

About You

The successful candidate will have:

A degree-level qualification or relevant equivalent experience.
A recognised qualification in Early Years, Education, Health, Youth Work or a related field.
Experience of working successfully with children, young people and families.
Knowledge of child development, education, care and health needs from early years through to young adulthood.
A strong understanding of safeguarding, the Children Act, Ofsted requirements and relevant legislation.
Experience of working within integrated, multi-agency services.
Experience of leading or coordinating projects that improve outcomes for children and families.
Experience of building effective partnerships with statutory, voluntary and community organisations.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage a wide range of audiences.
The ability to support and inspire families, parents and carers through evidence-based approaches.
Experience of working with vulnerable families and managing sensitive situations professionally.
