Domestic Assistant

London Borough of Harrow's Central Family Hub has an opening for a Domestic Assistant.
The post holder will provide a high-quality service for staff, children, parents, and sometimes vulnerable families. Maintaining infection control, clean play areas, and communal spaces which are all essential for safeguarding the health and wellbeing of all that access the hub. Family Hubs are designed to be welcoming, relationship‑centred spaces. The domestic assistant will create an environment where families feel comfortable, maintaining clean, organised rooms to directly support this principle. The candidate will take responsibitiy for keeping and maintaining a register of cleaning orders and submitting orders for resources required.
It is expected that the successful post holder will act with initiative, skill, and responsibility, where the councils rules in confidentiality will be observed.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience of working as a Domestic Assistant.
- Awareness of and abide by all COSHH (Care of Substances Hazardous to Health 1994) regulations and a willingness to learn about other relevant law in relation to the role.
- Awareness of and abide by all Health & Safety Regulations in relation to the job role.
- Ability to undertake general cleaning duties, as set out in the centre's cleaning schedule e.g. keep stock control and organisation of the store cupboard.
- An understanding of keeping professional boundaries with children.
- Ablility to respond quickly to hazardous situations.
- Ability to undertake lifting and handling of cleaning products and equipment as well as accessing of them in high or low positions are required.
