Overview

The London Borough of Harrow is seeking a dedicated and experienced Team Manager for the Specialist Learning Disability & Autism Team. You will lead a team of professionals within the newly formed Mental Health, Learning Disability and Autism service, ensuring the council meets is statutory obligations under the Care Act 2014 through a truly Strengths Based approach that maximises opportunities for independence. You will manage a team of social workers, occupational therapists and care managers, ensuring that adults with eligible needs in Harow receives care that is person centred and evidence based.

About You

You will have excellent people and budget management skills, and a commitment to empowering adults with learning disabilities and Autism to live their best lives. You will hold expert knowledge of the relevant legislation and be confident managing processes including Section 42 Safeguarding enquiries, applications to the Couty of Protection, and assessments under the Mental Capacity Act 2005. You will be adept at working in partnership with our system colleagues in Health, as well as provider organisations, and most importantly family carers and advocates.

Performance – ensuring that interventions are timely, and within the required timescales
Practice – leading professionals in a way that supports reflection, learning, legal literacy and professional development
Quality – working with the leadership team to improve the processes that support good service delivery
Finance – ensuring that resources are deployed equitably, that packages provide quality as well as value for money, and care is funded from the appropriate funding source
