
Rough Sleeper Prevention Coordinator (2 Year Fixed Term Contract)

Working hours: 37.5 hours per week (banking 30 minutes per week to be used towards the shutdown between Christmas and New Year)
We are seeking to recruit a Rough Sleeper Prevention Coordinator to work in the Housing service on a two year fixed term contract. The successful candidate will have excellent negotiation skills and be part of the Housing Options & Advice Team.
To coordinate the work across Harlow to tackle and prevent rough sleeping. This includes nurturing and managing a range of positive and pro-active relationships with existing and prospective partners and stakeholders. To assist single people that are sleeping rough or at risk of homelessness to access a range of accommodation, support and services to create long-term housing solutions.
The successful candidate should have knowledge of the homeless legislation and have experience of working with those who have experienced homelessness. You should be aware of the challenges vulnerable people face and have a caring nature whilst also being able to deal with difficult situations. You will work together with officers within the team in the prevention of homelessness.
Qualified to G.C.S.E English & Maths grades A-C or minimum Level 4 or equivalent and able to demonstrate good literacy, numeracy, and verbal communication. Experience in a similar role/environment preferably within a homeless setting. Experience of developing good relationships between voluntary and statutory organisations.
The successful applicant will be required to work out of normal office hours on occasions, carryout site visits and organise and attend rough sleeper counts and estimates.
