Harlow Council is looking for customer-focused individuals to join our team as Casual Café Hosts at The Social Club Café – a modern café and community space celebrating Harlow’s historic social club culture.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the new vibrant café and events space, where you will play a key role in delivering excellent customer service and creating a welcoming environment for visitors. From serving food and beverages to supporting events, no two days will be the same.

As a Café Host, you will:

Deliver friendly, efficient front-of-house service.
Provide excellent customer service and handle transactions accurately.
Help maintain a clean, safe, and organised environment.
Assist with stock monitoring, replenishment, and visual merchandising.
Support the preparation and delivery of events, ensuring a high-quality experience for all guests.

Successful candidates will need to be aged 18 years and over and be able to obtain a personal license to sell alcohol. There is also a requirement to work flexible works, including evenings and weekends.

You will need to hold GCSE certificate in English and Maths (grade A*-C or minimum Level 4 or equivalent), have basic IT skills. You will have experience in a customer-facing role and enjoy working as part of a team. You will also have excellent communication skills, accuracy to detail, and work well under pressure.
