Working hours: 37.5 hours per week (banking 30 minutes per week to be used towards the shutdown between Christmas and New Year)

Harlow Council is seeking an experienced hospitality professional with excellent customer service to oversee the day-to-day café operations at The Social Club, based at Harlow Innovation Park on London Road. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in a growing community venue, leading the café team, and ensuring a welcoming experience for all customers. This post is offered as a one year fixed term contract.

About the Role

As Café Supervisor, you will be responsible for the smooth and efficient running of the café, lead and motivate the team whilst ensuring high standards of service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily café operations, including opening and closing procedures.
  • Lead and support a team to deliver outstanding customer service.
  • Manage staff and rotas
  • Manage stock ordering, supplier relationships and stock control processes.
  • Ensure compliance with food hygiene, health and safety, licensing and allergen regulations.

About You

We're looking for someone with hospitality experience, who is customer focused and has excellent communication and leadership skills.

You will be organised, reliable and able to work on your own initiative. You will also be flexible, being able to work evenings and weekends when required.

The successful candidate will have a Level 2 in Food Hygiene, GCSE English & Maths and a Level 2 Award for Personal Licence Holders (or be willing to obtain this).
