Harlow Council is hiring
We have an excellent opportunity for an Apprentice to join our Legal Services Team as an Information Governance Apprentice.
This is a two year position supporting the Council’s Legal Services department with statutory and organisational compliance, through the provision of general activities across all areas of the Service.
This role includes supporting the Council to ensure it meets legal obligations under the relevant legislation and regulations, which has an impact on Council information. This includes Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA), Data Protection Act 2018 (DPA), UK General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR), Environmental Information Regulations 2004 (EIRs).
The successful candidate will undertake a Level 4 Data Protection and Information Governance Practitioner (delivered virtually with some in-person sessions at Vesta College, London E1). To qualify for funding, applicants must not have achieved a qualification in the same subject area.
In this post, you will work on developing your skills to manage deadlines, attention to detail, the use of task lists, time management and both written and verbal communication. This is an excellent opportunity to learn whilst working and being guided by experienced professionals.
Shortlisted applicants will be required to undertake a short IT test as part of the interview process.
For an informal discussion about this role, please contact Angela Merry, Legal Practice Manager, 01279 446046
