Working hours: 37.5 hours per week (banking 30 minutes per week to be used towards the shut down between Christmas and the New Year)

We are seeking a highly organised and self-motivated individual to join our Democratic Services Team.

Reporting to the Democratic Services Manager, you will provide a range of support in respect of the council’s and democratic and governance processes. This is a varied and fast-paced role that requires excellent organisational skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to effectively prioritise competing demands. You will be a proactive team player who can work collaboratively with colleagues while also managing your own workload with minimal supervision.

Experienced in administration, you will be educated A-Level standard, including English. You will be familiar with governance processes, particularly preparing agendas and internal decision-making procedures.

It is essential that you have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and have experience of using an agenda management system, such as Issue Manager or similar document management system. You will be highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams, with the ability to format complex documents, maintain records and produce accurate reports, working effectively in a paper-light environment.
